Featured on the Stanford Soundtrack 2011 Compilation, this track features Tracy Chesebrough and Laurie Kost and Cello and Violin respectively and the glorious back up vocals by songbird Lisa Goettel. Recorded at Jamie's house in Big Sur, mixed on headphones in Hawaii.

lyrics

As I lie awake at night all clinched up with fright.
I sing I sing I do I do songbird of the afternoon.

As I wake up I think of all I got then I drown out all my thoughts.
I sing I sing I do I do songbird of the afternoon.

Tears fall down like raindrops try and drown out all my thoughts.
I sing I sing I do I do songbird of the afternoon.

This is such a subtle thing so few hear what I mean.
I sing I sing I do I do songbird of the afternoon.

(Instrumental)

Tears fall down like raindrops try and drown out all my thoughts.
I sing I sing I do I do songbird of the afternoon yeah.

As I lie to rest at night all clinched up with fright.
I sink I sink I do I do songbird of the afternoon.

about

Levi’s music is heartfelt but bold with gravity heavy lyrics and oddly catchy melodies. Levi has toured the United States ... more and Europe with folk legend Kath Bloom and has become a staple figure of the burgeoning central coast music scene. His new single “Songbird” is out now. less
